The battery of your car can be dead anywhere and anytime. So you better learn how to charge them by yourself.
Here are the steps which you need to follow:
Start by equipping yourself in advance. Your equipment should consist of safety gloves, glasses, water, moist cloth, mask, and some other stuff which you think you might need based on the type of car you are working on.
Disconnect the battery now. If possible remove the leads from the battery. If this is not possible, unplug the negative cable.
Attach the charger. Test if the charger you have is right for the battery of your car before you connect anything. Once you are pretty sure about their compatibility, read the instruction manual to connect the wires properly.
Switch the charger on. Either a green light will be on or any other signal will be shown to indicate that the charger is on now. If there is no signal, then you might have not connected the clips and wires properly.
When the charging is complete, the charger will again indicate by some sort of a signal. Usually the green light goes off. Disconnect the charger from the mains before you remove the clips.
Turn the ignition and check if the car is working or not.
